Steven graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Psychology.  Soon after graduating, he directed the documentary, The Lions of New York, which followed New York’s premier Gay Hockey team, the New York Lions, on and off the ice.  He continued in documentary filmmaking, joining HBO Sports, where he helped produce two Emmy nominated feature length documentaries, Ted Williams: There Goes the Greatest Hitter That Ever Lived and McEnroe/Borg: Fire & Ice.

He went on to attend The American Film Institute as an Editing Fellow where the American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.) honored him with an EDDIE nomination for his work and his thesis film, This Way Up, received a Student Academy Award.  Upon graduating he became a member of the Motion Pictures Editors Guild.

Steven believes film is important, and at its best can be used as a vehicle for social change. He makes a mean Trinidadian Oxtail Stew, thinks Biggie is better than Tupac, and is, for better or for worse, a diehard New York Mets fan.

He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jazmyne.
